These are the first pictures to be released of a stunning new course in the Eastern Algarve.

The course is just 30 minutes from Faro Airport and looks set to be an absolute beauty. The views are breathtaking with the dramatic Serra do Caldeira mountains to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the South.

The course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is due to open in June.

The new Monte Rei Golf Club and Country Club will measure 7,200 yards off the back tees. As well as the sea, there are five lakes on the course and there are plenty of trees to catch those that stay out of the wet stuff.

Anyone can play here, but it’s expected to be around £130 a round.
