Ryder Cup hero Darren Clarke’s caddie Billy Foster has denied that he has been approached to be Tiger Woods’ new bagman next season.

Steve Williams currently caddies for the world No 1, but speculation is rife that the New Zealander could step down after eight years in the job.

Foster has worked with the American before, at the 2005 Presidents Cup, but has moved to pour water on the speculation.

He told BBC Sport: “A few rumours are flying around, but I’ve not been approached. I wish I could say it’s true because it’s the best job in the world.”
