Nike’s 2008 golf club range is to be joined by a completely new game improvement set, known as the Nike Slingshot 4D irons.
The wide sole golf clubs feature a new concept called variable sole width which helps place weight exactly where it is needed in the clubhead to promote excellent ball flight off a consistent and forgiving face. A Slingback lip further aids this by moving critical weight across the centre of the face. In the long irons it is placed low and back while in the shorter irons and wedges it is higher and more forward.
It all adds up to hybrid-like forgiveness without having to carry around a bag that resembles the entire contents of an iron foundary.
The Slingshot 4D irons hit the shops in November.
