Ryder Cup 2008 Editorteamfantasy

The Today’s Golfer Ryder Cup Fantasy League golf game is now in full swing and you can sign up right now.

TG Editor Andy Calton has just picked his team and reckons it’ll take some beating! The rest of the TG office is not so sure!

He’s picked

Padraig Harrington ($3.5m)

Sergio Garcia ($3.5m)

Paul Casey ($1.5m)

Oliver Wilson ($1m)

Jim Furyk ($2.5m)

Stewart Cink ($3m)

When quizzed on his picks Calton said: “Harrington and Garcia are simply awesome players and no strangers to beating the Americans on the big stage. But after spending $7million on those two I needed some ‘value picks’.

“Casey is a really tough competitor and will dig in to produce some good results – and he is only $1.5m. And then I went for Oliver Wilson. I wanted to stay loyal to Europe (you have to pick a minimum of two from each team) and yet needed a cheap pick.

“It”s his first Ryder Cup and he’ll be buzzing. He’s a great player and will want to show what he’s got. As for the Americans – I think Jim Furyk is a snip at $2.5m and Cink is in great form. He’s had five top 3s this year and is ninth in the world rankings. He’ll be solid and a rock to the US team. He’ll bag me a few points – hopefully not too many!!

See if you can beat Calton’s team – TG Editor – by picking your dream six right now.
