What Harrington is practicing | Ryder Cup 2008

Open Champion Padraig Harrington was practising using the help of a few simple swing drills on Thursday.

The three-time major winner started by wearing a weight strap around his left bicep to help strengthen his left side through impact, helping to align his left arm and the shaft, encouraging a strong, neutral impact position.

Harrington then popped a golf glove under his right arm pit and hit shots without letting it drop out until the finish. This simple drill helps keep the connection between the arms and the body, ensuring a more compact swing and improving timing.
