What we say...

Super lightweight golf shoes are sometimes found lacking when it comes to technology, waterproofing, and grip. With the ECCO LT1, the Danish brand believes they’ve delivered the best of everything in a comfortable and lightweight package.

ECCO are always looking for ways to push the boundaries when it comes to creating the best golf shoes. Their latest technological advancement is a super-lightweight foam they’re calling LYTR, which makes its debut in the ECCO LT1 golf shoes.

“The ECCO Golf LT1 is a game-changer in every sense,” says Timo Vollrath, Head of Global Marketing at ECCO Golf. “We’ve harnessed our latest technologies to create a golf shoe that offers golfers an experience like no other. It’s a testament to our dedication to providing innovative and top-quality products to golfers worldwide.”

Lightweight golf shoes are nothing new, but ECCO has combined LTYR Foam with their ‘Fluidform’ technology, which means the upper of the shoe is put together without stitching or gluing. Combined with ECCO’s ultra-soft midsole, they say it creates a “flexible, cloud-like sensation for the wearer”.

Let’s see what else the ECCO LT1 has to offer…

ECCO LT1 golf shoe highlights:

Comfort & stability

Anyone who’s worn ECCO golf shoes will know they’re hard to beat when it comes to comfort. In the LT1, ECCO’s new LYTR Foam is seamlessly combined in the midsole with soft polyurethane. The shape of the shoe is designed to contour around your foot while offering plenty of stability throughout your swing.

Grip

ECCO barely makes spiked shoes these days as they’re so confident the best spikeless shoes offer optimal grip. The outsole of the LT1 is designed to offer multi-directional traction to help you use the ground well on every shot.

Waterproof

The ECCO LT1 features a waterproof membrane that keeps your feet dry and comfortable in wet conditions.

Sporty looks

The ECCO Golf LT1 offers a sporty, fresh look, ideal for summer golf. The design is clean and minimalist, with the most notable part being the sole, which adds a pop of color, and the visible shank underneath.

Tour approved

Tour pros including Henrik Stenson, Erik van Rooyen, and Lydia Ko have all worn ECCO LT1 golf shoes.

Lacing options

The ECCO LT1 is available in laced and BOA options for both men and women.

Today’s Golfer verdict

Ross Tugwood, Senior Digital Writer

I had yet to put a pair of Ecco’s to the test so I was keen to see what all the fuss was about, and first impressions out of the box were pleasing. I love the vibrant-colored neon soles that add the perfect amount of flair for me. They’re sporty looking, but very obviously a golf shoe as opposed to a sneaker hybrid. ‘Experience a new kind of lightness’ says Ecco, and yes, they do seem pretty light, but for me, the selling point was a ‘new kind of comfort’. The LT1 has a super-premium feel, as you’d hope for based on price alone, and when tightened to my liking via the BOA system, felt secure and snug around my fairly narrow arch.

Out on the course, I found the underfoot experience to be second to none. Plenty of cushioning but without compromising on feel which is important for proprioception when taking your stance and considering your weight distribution. The spikeless sole provided ample traction via the rubberized lugs which I thought were subtle enough to wear comfortably for short periods on hard surfaces too. I had plodded a very slow 15 km the day before and my feet were pretty sore, so I was impressed at how fresh and pain-free my feet felt across my round. All things considered, I find the LT1 very hard to fault. It will be my go-to shoe this summer and perhaps for some time to come!
