What we say
Finca Cortesin is arguably Spain’s leading stay and play venue, being majestically located in the rolling hills of southern Spain between Marbella and Sotogrande. It’s flanked by the Casares Mountains and is a short drive away from former Ryder Cup venue Valderrama.
The Cabell Robinson-designed Finca Cortesin has staged top flight action itself, the prestigious Volvo World Match Play Championship being staged there for the first time in 2009. At 7,380 yards off the back tees, Finca is one of the longest courses in Europe and is a serious test of golf though there are several tees, therefore reducing the overall length, to play from.
There are over 100 beautifully crafted white marble sand bunkers dotted amongst well-manicured fairways to negotiate but the biggest challenge undoubtedly comes on the lightning fast, undulating greens. The on-site hotel is sheer class and luxury too, providing 67 spacious suites, manicured gardens, a stunning spa, three swimming pools and tennis courts while it even boasts its own beach club.
Finca Cortesin Golf Experience package – Three or five nights stay in a suite (based on double occupancy), and four or six green fees per stay. Costs from 1,500€ (junior suite) and 1,986€ (executive suite). VAT not included. For more information visit www.fincacortesin.com or you can book here (prices correct as of August 2014).
