My Favourite Hole – Bernd Wiesberger

I really enjoy playing this one because it’s a great risk and reward hole down the stretch and you can see plenty of drama there from eagles to triple bogeys. It’s a fantastic finishing hole. It’s an attacking hole and a great chance to make up some ground if you’re precise with your first and second shots.
The tee shot is a right-to-left dog-leg and the palm trees have really grown in over the last few years so you have to hit a big, high draw, or even a hook, around the corner. If you manage to pull off a good tee shot you only have a 3 or 4-iron in. If it doesn’t come off perfectly you can easily go through the fairway and you might have a decision to make between a fairway wood in over the water or a lay up.
It’s a big double green with the 9th and where the 18th hole is on the left side of it is pretty wide and flat so it’s not too difficult. But on the weekend they put the flag in some tough places just behind the bunker so you have to be really careful even if you’re hitting just a wedge in. It takes a brave shot to get close in two if the flag is tucked away.
