Staverton Park Golf Club

What we say

The visual beauty of this hilly course can distract you from how tough it is. The front nine is strong and the back nine starts with two terrific downhillers before the stunning par-3 12th over a pond.

  • 2 out of 5 Slow slow slow

I looked forward to playing this course again because the last time I played it was in really condition and the layout is interesting. How diss appointed I was. The tees were dry, fairways had slits in them and the greens were bobbly, looked like they could do with a good cut. To compound this disappointment it took us 51/2 hours to get round. Others were walking off being fed up with slow play, it was ridiculous. Having spoken to other groups it became clear that you can now book to play this course very cheaply. What a shame this course which has such great potential is lowering its standards and losing its focus.

i played this course May 2009 and it's in very good condition. Tees, bunkers and fairways in great condition. Sand in the bunkers is amongst softest i have played it. It looks very compact in appearance but you get in one it is surprising. Fairway bunkers are very well placed to catch drives. There are some eye-catching holes. My friend and i enjoyed playing the course. Facilities are very good. Driving range, practice bunker area and putting surface.Get it on 2 for 1and you can't go wrong.

We had a 4 day lads golf holiday , course above average but nothing fantastic .The Hotel was OK but nothing special . The course feels almost like the back 9 is a copy of the front 9 . Greens very hard and the bunkers almost unplayable - sand was all compact with no chance to get under the ball .

well kept, nicely laid out course. fairways were being tined when we played and greens were a bit slower than expected but later on this course should be great. could do with a few more tee directions as you could get lost between holes but overall its a superb course.the views on most of the tees are stunning!

The course was very good compared to others for the time of year. There were one or two 'boggy areas on the fairways but this didnt spoil the enjoyment. The greens and tees were in excellent condition and well maintained. Great views. The staff and members were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be playing this course again.
