What we say
A nine-holer with 18 tees, three par 3s and a trio of par 5s, Wooler is plotted on high ground known as Dod Law. You’ll find the course in excellent nick throughout the year and the spectacular views include Berwickto the north and Lindisfarne to the east.
Wooler Golf Club is situated just off the B6525 Wooler to Berwick road, at the village of Doddington, some 3 miles North East of Wooler. This 9 hole 18 tee, par 72 course occupies the high ground known as Dod Law.
Fairways and greens are in superb condition all year round and certainly within the last 8 years Wooler Golf Course has only been been closed a handful of times. Even throughout the winter, temporary tees are used but the greens remain in play.
With three par 3 and three par 5 holes the 6411 yardage from white tees offers a stern challenge to all classes of golfer trying to match the S.S.S. of 71.

This is a 9 hole course with separate tees for the second nine. Set at the end of a bumpy track in the small hamlet of Doddington. It is not often manned and has an honesty box outside the clubhouse. I got the feeling that I was always walking uphill, even when I was going down, with the except of the 9th/18th which is down a steep hill. It is advisable to leave your clubs to the side half way down as you will need to walk back uphill to get to either the 10th tee or the clubhouse. It is a small friendly course and worth trying if you are in the neighbourhood.
