Temple Newsam Golf Course – Lord Irwin Course

What we say

Temple Newsam Golf Course, originally opened in 1923 with an 18 hole course, offers two golf courses and has since 1925, when a second course was opened due to the popularity of the first. Both courses were designed by Dr. Alistair Mackenzie.

Both courses are surrounded by mature woodland and feature numerous strategically-placed bunkers, guaranteeing golfers of any ability a challenging and rewarding experience.

  • 4 out of 5 Long & Strong

    By James McMullan

You have to be both (see title) a true test at a very affordable price, I have played on most courses round Leeds and this by far represents the best value for money, both courses have Mackenzie greens that are so well kept you soon forget this is a municipal course, many members from other 'higher class' GC's have come and tried to play here to thier handicapp and failed . If you a 5 handicap at Tempsy you are scratch else were !!!.

  • 4.5 out of 5 a challenge

my local course is temple newsam in leeds 2 challenging courses set out in beautiful park land with the lord Irwin being slightly the longer of the two .but the lady Dorothy has the longer par fives and i would say one of the toughest first holes your likely to face at only £10.30 a round week days and £15.00 at weekends  its well worth a visit
