West Bradford Golf Club

What we say

It might be situated in an indifferent area of Bradford but this is actually a very pleasant track. You can score well if your iron play is good enough to find the smallish, often elevated greens. The bunkers aren’t penal and there’s nothing scary off the tee.

West Bradford Golf Club was originally founded by a group of Bradford wool men in 1900. The nine hole layout was built on 80 acres of land leased from Bradford Corporation but was extended to 18 holes seven years later. The layout of the golf course has been radically changed several times during the intervening years but the present layout has remained largely unaltered for the past 35 years.

With a par of 69 and a standard scratch of 68, West Bradford provides a good test of golf for golfers of all abilities. The terrain is undulating although not too physically demanding. Mind you, golfers do have to be wary of  the "out of bounds" on the perimeter of the golf course, the trees now lining many of the fairways and the prevailing westerly breezes.
