What we say

Brickhampton Court Golf Complex was created in 1994 by Creed Golf & Leisure Ltd, a company owned by a local family who have maintained a keen interest in ensuring its development into an upstanding modern golfing venue.

Set in 200 acres of rolling Gloucestershire countryside, Brickhampton Court is the home of an 18 hole parkland layout and the nine hole par 31 Glevum golf course. Both were designed by Simon Gidman, a member of the British Institute of Golf Course Architects.

  • 4 out of 5 Keep it Straight!!

Played this course end of August 2015. It was in very good condition, especially the greens. If you veer off the fairways(even slightly!!) there are lots of maturing trees to hamper your progress to the green,. I would advise hiring a buggy as there are some long walks between tees. I wish they would put some sand in the bunkers though( my only criticism) as they are very hard if you land in them. Clubhouse facilities very nice. All staff pleasant and helpful. Course is prob not too long, but to a high handicapper(me!!) its certainly long enough. 17th is a swine! but good fun. Try it. you wont be disappointed.

  • 3 out of 5 Get it in!!!

We all love to get in the hole and this place is like a loyal strumpet. Cheap and cheerful and always obliging. If you can't get on the course the driving range is pretty decent and the staff are great. I once got a bit of a rollicking from the owner for chipping onto the practice putting green. Thought he was a bit gobby but decided to laugh it off rather than wrap my 9 iron round his neck as the last thing I need right now is for my licence to get revoked.  As for the course itself, the layout is fairly good but there appears to be a slight problem with drainage here and there. I think the par 3's here are all interesting, 2 involving water. There are a few birds knocking about here too though most of them are a bit butch for me. If you're after a round of golf this course will do nicely but if it's a bit of slap and tickle you are seeking you'd be better of elsewhere.

This is a good course and very good value. The first nine is fairly easy with plenty of short holes. The back nine has some stunning holes like the par 3 17th. It has a lake in front of a small landing area. You have to carry it 120 yards. The condition of the course is usually excellent and a fair test of your golfing skills without being completely hard. It also has excellent facilities with a fantastic floodlight 26 bay driving range. It also has a little 9 hole which is fantastic for developing skills particularly for beginners. The atmosphere is friendly and overall an excellent base for playing golf.

I love this course. Has been getting better with age even more now that the ground staff have tamed the long rough. A great challenge for all handicaps, greens are great, tee's in lovely conditions. I don't think its too flat at all, great value for money and gets better with age. Keeps it up guys

Played about 30 times here. Getting better with age as the trees mature. There are some very challenging holes - especially 12,13,14 and 15 - the only problem is that the challenge lies mainly on the back nine. Also sometimes recently the rough is set up to be too long which can make it all too easy to lose your ball even if only slightly wayward. Also I don't think some beginner golfers are helped by there being long rough straight infront of some of the tees. Greens and tees are generally in very good condition. Fairways are improving but the ground is just not quite perfect there but is about average. Its probably about right for the money.

  • 3 out of 5 I enjoy other courses more

The course is generally quite flat, but great effort has been made to add features, the island green par 3 17th is one of the toughest I have played. I have played it twice this year, and the rough is what I regards too penalising for the wayward shot- there is a warning notice on the first tee!!! I played a week of the major floods in Gloucestershire and the course was very playable and the greens were excellent. My major critiscm is it is near a small airport, and very close to the runway and there is constant air traffic landing and taking off, which I find very distracting. My playing partners thought the same.

  • 4.5 out of 5 Great corporate hospitality

    By Jeremy Shaw

Attended my third annual corporate hospitality day at Brickhampton last week, definitely the best so far. The course is in great condition, especially the greens. It's a young course but the trees are maturing. The 17th and 18th holes are superb. The catering was excellent, bacon rolls on arrival, great evening meal and the BBQ sausages and beer tent on the 10th was a real treat.

This is a good course that is maturing all the time. Quite a number of shortish par 4s too. The back 9 is harder than the front. Some good water features too. Mostly forgiving from the tee. Worth a go.
