Dollar Golf Club

What we say

Set out over a century ago by Ben Sayers on the slopes of the Ochils, Dollar is typical of the Scottish village golf courses. A short golf course built before the days of modern technology it is, nevertheless, a fair challenge.

Hilly and testing, every shot requires careful thought. A burn features on seven holes, there are decisions to be made on the tee and every shot has to be played with terrain and the varieties of Scottish weather in mind.

I have played Dollar many times over the years as a visitor and most recent was last month when I took my son for his first visit. A nice Monday morning stroll I promised him and by the 4th hole he did not believe me, we had a fantastic day from our warm & friendly welcome by the young lady at the bar who took our money to the course in fantastic condition. A stern challenge if you strayed but a rewarding one as we walked down the 18th fairway after a wonderful round of golf. Well worth a visit as the course, its surroundings and the friendly welcome puts a lot of big clubs to shame. Douglas & Andrew Campbell
