Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club

What we say

Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club is virtually next door to Royal Porthcawl and is a worthy neighbour. Its sky-high dunes make it a tough golfing challenge, and it’s more scenic than its flattish royal neighbour.

Established in 1922, Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club's original golf course was laid out by Harry Colt but World War II enforced many changes. Play was reduced to nine holes as the Army requisitioned the remainder of the land. Eventually P Mackenzie Ross was invited to design the new holes situated in a region of marram-clad sand dunes.
Part of the back nine has been designated a European Special Area of Conservation. More recently there has been a widening of fairways and general clearance of the tall fern plus the repositioning of bunkers.

Accommodation: The Rose & Crown pub is about one mile away while in Porthcawl (three miles) you’ll come across the Fairways and Atlantic hotels.
