The course that Jack built opened in 1991 and little more than two decades later it was hosting a WGC event, won by Tiger Woods Unsurprisingly given Nicklaus’ involvement it is very American in feel. Mount Juliet is big and bold with numerous water hazards – not least the River Nore – plenty of bunkers and lots of different tee boxes. Happily though, there are no buggy paths and the terrain is pleasingly undulating with each hole framed by big trees.
