Windmill Village Golf Club

What we say

Not in the same league as neighbouring Forest of Arden and The Belfry, but Windmill Village has plenty of surprises in store. Firstly, the opening three holes are par-3s with the quirkiest of rounds ending with a trio of par-5s! And amazingly you can experience all this on Mondays for just a fiver (with a 2-FORE!-1 voucher).

  • 3 out of 5 Back to windmill

    By Chris

Nice course greens very good.the only thing that lets the course down are the first 3 holes about 120 yards.

  • 4 out of 5 Super Value

    By Geof Bolhovener

First time I have played this course and will certainly be back again, how many course's of this standard will you find at such terrific value. The condition was excellent and the green's unforgiving and boy were they fast on a hot July morning. We hear golf is in 'trouble' if that's the case others should take notice on how this one operates.

  • 3 out of 5 Midweek only course

    By stephen cook

I joined this club as a fledgling golfer and it was perfect for my needs. I quickly found out it was a no go on the weekends, extremely crowded at times for the minute length some rounds could take 5 hours and that is staggering. Having said that the tee's are acceptable but the greens(providing they haven't been hollowtined) are very good and i feel they set me up as a good putter for better courses. The bar service and food are very good and the staff are a nice bunch but the practice facilities are limited to a putting green and a driving net with a mat to hit balls off. I still go back now and then, Midweek only, as when not busy you can breeze round in 2 and a half to 3 hours. great course for the begginer or older golfer.

  • 5 out of 5 More Ladies should try this little gem

    By amandalouise

Having played here a few years ago decided to give another go. I was very quickly reminded of how much I enjoyed the last outing the course is a good length from the red tee boxes but not so long as you feel you have to slog your way round. This course is maturing very nicley the Wildlife we saw on the way round was wonderful to from the wild ducks to the huge carp in the lakes. Tees & Greens both of a high standard The staff in the golf & leisure reception were very helpful. And the cellar bar was a lovely place to rest after our game. I will be returning to the windmill sooner rather than later.

  • 5 out of 5 Great Golf course for the senior player

    By baillien

Getting on in years and finding it a little more challenging to play 18 holes I found the windmill course to be kind on foot their were buggies available but we prefer to walk if we can and this was just what the doctor ordered would recommend to other senior players very well laid out and in good condition has a feel good factor to it certainly will return seemed to be a very friendly club. Enjoyed a beer on the patio overlooking the course when finished good end to a great days golf.

  • 5 out of 5 A good test of golf great value will play again

    By huntergolf

This course is a good test of golf for golfers of all standards you have to think your way round if you want to hit a low score two beautiful lakes come in to play on the 7th/8th holes on the front nine and on the back nine the 10th 11th and 17th holes are all skirted by water. The tees and greens are in great condition fast true rolling greens make for a real challenge in this area of the game. Was quite busy when we played but the first tee was well controlled  by the course marshall friendly but efficient. The food in the cellar bar after was very good and reasonably priced  And the the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Can,t wait to play again.

  • 3 out of 5 tricky

    By meldan2

It's very short but a pretty decent test. A shame it opens up with 3 par 3's in a row, because after that there are some tricky holes. It's tight, there are lots of sharp dogleg holes and the greens are usually quick and sloping - they obviously try and get shots back by making the greens more difficult than most courses. You only need a driver on a few holes but your irons get a good workout, so it makes a change to play here where you can't just whack it off the tee and get away with it.

  • 3 out of 5 Well laid out

    By Anonymous

A small but very neat and tidy course, greens are all well-kept as are fairways. Weekends are generally busy which really shows how tightly packed the course is, leaving two to three groups on a tee more often than not. Having said that there are some very testing holes, well laid out.

  • 3.5 out of 5 Quick and Easy

Although the course is very short, the tuesday morning that we played we set off at 7.00am and by 10.00am we had finished!! the greens here are fantastic true and really fast.

  • 2 out of 5 poor course mannners from many players

    By Anonymous

the course itself is ok no more the people seem to not wether you are there or not, very poor dress code lots of people in trainers and tracksuits and they give to many tee times the tees have 2 or 3 groups waiting all the time.
