What we say...

Pull the Hippo Hex on the tee and some will laugh, while others will be lifting their bottom jaw off the turf.

But believe us, it’s a really good proposition and brilliant for golfers who want to join the wacky shaped driver gang without breaking the bank.

The carbon crown means extra weight can be located in more effective areas of the head, and it doesn’t even sound like a carbon crown driver. If you can see past the shape, you can’t go far wrong for £99.

The Hippo Hex Driver has a carbon crown meaning that extra weight can be put into more effective areas of the head.

Hippo Drivers User Reviews

  • 5 out of 5 what a bargain!

    By 42pointbandit

picked up the hippo hex driver on e bay for £18 and in mint condition too! took to it straight away and was soon outdriving my playing partner who has a taylor made r7 driver and plays off of 7! it does sound a little 'tingy' off the face but when you can hit over 260yards,straight,with it who cares! go and get one

  • 3 out of 5 Ok, but better out there!

Hippo wanted to join the "high moi" list and created an extremely wierd shape! I unfortunately didn't find it very forgiving in terms of hitting the ball straight. Two things to bare in mind, the shaft seemed to be 1 inch longer than standard length. While this improved distance, it lost contol for me. Also, i had the HL (high loft) and was unable to hit the ball very high at all. This combination of inconsistent shot shape led to me buying a Nike Sasquatch Sumo2. Now i am confident in hitting consistently straighter and at a better loft. With the prices of the Sasquatch dramatically falling, i would plump for this one.

  • 5 out of 5 Cheap, but great distance and consistency.

Just traded in my old Cleveland hibore for the Hippo HL (12 deg loft) A lot further( 270+y) and more consistent, 9 out of 10 hits straight down the middle. Been testing it against others and it is by far the best. It is cheap but what an excellent product!

  • 5 out of 5 Probably the best driver on the market

    By Robbie27266

First tee, first time out. Straight down the middle 290 yards. I Play off 16 and hit 11 out of 13 fairways with it through my first round and just as long as my old R7tp. Very forgiving, very straight, very long, and all for £89. What more do you want?

  • 4 out of 5 Great driver but lacks distance

    By ajrscuba

I enjoyed this driver. Stight every time and very consistant. Only fault was that it lacked distance. Would definatly consider this as a component of my bag!

  • 5 out of 5 Looks awesome - performs better!

Took a little while to get used to the regular shaft, but once I'd slowed the swing down a little this driver does what it says on the tin, i.e. you will find more fairways. It has also allowed me to gain approx 30-40 yards in distance against my old Cobra SZ 440 as it hits on a lower tradjectory and thus I actually get some run now. All in all an excellent product and for less than a ton it's top value too.
