What we say...
Last year’s winner in this category was outdone by its more expensive Hippo Hex cousin. Although the XXL is a great-looking club for the price, we found it a little unforgiving and harsh off its deep face with carry distance often lacking. Although our pro managed a respectable 270-yard average carry, it was the shortest on test by a whisker.
Pro Verdict: Didn’t feel too solid for me and lacked carry distance but I still feel the club would perform well for slower swingers.
Tester Comments: “Very deep face but not a bad choice for the price”… “Great for the money and the deep face looks good behind the ball”… “Felt like a brick”.
The HiPPO XXL Driver has a 460cc titanium head that pushes both COR and MOI to the legal limits to deliver distance at an affordable price.
The award winning Hippo XXL driver, previously voted best budget driver by Today’s Golfer, is constructed of Beta Titanium. The large 460cc head and features a deep face with fixed weight technology at the heel to take the MOI to the legal limit. The XXL driver comes standard in regular flex and features the premium velvet ‘Orange Cap’ tour grip.

I have just bought one of these for £44.95 and cant believe how good it is for such a small ammount of money. It is so easy to use off the tee and seems to go long and straight every time I hit it.Im a high handicapper who has always struggled with drivers. My last driver was a 12 deg offset Ping G5 which I ended up selling on ebay because I hardly ever hit a decent shot with it.The high launch XXL which ive bought was a quarter of the price of the Ping but well out performs it in my eyes.
As a high handicapper I wanted an easy to use club off the tee. The XXL is just that - a no nonsense launcher! Its very easy to align, beautifully balanced - highly recommended.
i highly recomend one of these i bought one yesterday and they give you such confidence off of the tee and you can hit it so far with this aswell!
