Ping G400 SFT Fairway Review: You should know

Slightly lighter than the standard G400 with higher lofts the SFT is designed to help golfers launch shots easier from the turf, especially at average swing speeds. With more weight positioned towards the heel added draw bias helps control and eliminate the slice that affects many club golfers.

Ping G400 SFT Fairway

Ping G400 SFT Fairway Review: We say

The head shape of the SFT is wider and more squashed than the G400, which for us helps increase confidence and playability. Our data certainly supports the theory. We saw a 2mph rise in club speed (for Simon against the standard G400) thanks to the lighter swing weight and a 500rpm increase in spin (which is partly down to the extra loft of the 3 wood) which for golfers who struggle to launch fairways off the deck would mean increased carry distance. The head sits really square at address which in our opinion is absolutely key to getting the club into the very golfers hands who really need the game improving tech it delivers.

Ping G400 SFT Fairway Review: Verdict

We love how the SFT doesn’t scream ‘Game Improvement’ club but Ping have stealthily snuck in some great game improving tech. If you struggle to stay away from the right side of the golf course, could do with some help launching fairways from the deck or have lost a bit of club speed recently they’re well worth your full attention.
