What we say...
Cobra's King Forged Tec Irons are an ideal set between better player and game improvement irons
Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: The Tech
A technology enhanced cavity back. Strategically placed tungsten weights position the centre of gravity behind the centre of the face for the most efficient energy transfer. There’s also a lighter and hotter J15 steel face and a TPU insert to dampen vibration.
Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: Our verdict
A strong 7-iron loft gives the TEC a distinct advantage when it comes to ball speed and carry. It's no surprise the model produced a 7-iron carry within four yards of our longest 2.5 forgiveness irons (only PXG 0311 P Gen 2 at 176 yards and Mizuno's MP-18 MMC at 174 were longer), which says the King is very much a speed and distance orientated design.
We're big fans of the head shape and love how the dark nish disguises the head shape. Sound is louder than most in the category (it's down to the thin and fast face), but our test pro wasn't put o by it.
Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: Bottom line
Cobra's King Forged Tec irons are a very strong crossover set between the better player and game improvement iron categories. Ideal for those wanting a great looking head shape but need the added bonus of a degree of playability.
