What we say...

Cobra's King Forged Tec Irons are an ideal set between better player and game improvement irons

Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: The Tech

A technology enhanced cavity back. Strategically placed tungsten weights position the centre of gravity behind the centre of the face for the most efficient energy transfer. There’s also a lighter and hotter J15 steel face and a TPU insert to dampen vibration.

Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: Our verdict

We’ve said it beforem, but Cobra are making some seriously hi-tech equipment right now and the Forged Tec irons are certainly no exception. The Tec’s had the strongest lofts of all of our better player irons and their heads were bigger than some so its no surprise they racked up a joint longest carry distance in this category.

With a drop off of just 3mph between centre and off centre hits it has to be said the extra stability weighting and the lighter clubface in the Cobra King Forged Tec irons are doing a very good job too. The excellent quality C-Taper Lite shafts also launched shots higher than most (even though the lofts were stronger) which in real terms would mean some extra drop and stop capability on the greens.

Cobra King Forged Tec Irons: Bottom line

Cobra's King Forged Tec irons are a very strong crossover set between the better player and game improvement iron categories. Ideal for those wanting a great looking head shape but need the added bonus of a degree of playability.
