When a player of Padraig Harrington’s stature commits a set of newly-designed irons to his bag you know they have got to be good. The new, classically shaped Pi5 irons have already helped the Irishman rise high into the world rankings.
A powerfully shaped head with a clean uncluttered appearance will look great in the bag. You know with these on the back of your buggy you will feel like a good player. The variable cavity design positions more mass on the toe of the long irons to help straighten out any leaky fades.
Don’t be fooled into thinking these were the easiest to hit clubs, but their sleek, neutral head with square edges and neat top edges and neat top edge will be to the liking of the better player. The Pi5s were a little heavier than some on test but this seems to enable you to judge exactly where the club is and what you are doing with it throughout the swing.

A good ball striker who likes a classically designed head, and is not particularly worried about wielding a less forgiving head.
Verdict
The rebranding exercise to Wilson Staff looks to have worked. For a pure ball-striker you will struggle to find a nicer looking cast club.

tried the lot
I have been playing since I was 7 ie 47 years and now teach the game. I have had a set of these for 8 years and since then have had 3 various other sets of different makes. I keep getting these out though because they are as good today as they ever were. Simple but classic irons with no gimmicks but if you strike these properly they are as good as it gets.

Wilson PI5 Iron
Obviously these clubs have been around a while now and are not Wilson's current offerings. This is reflected in the price, now avaialable for considerably less than the origianl R.R.P. I picked up my first left handed golf club over 20 years ago (I say left handed as I had a few swipes at a younger age with my fathers right handed clubs) and this was a Wilson iron. I've since played with Ping, Taylor Made, Titleist, Mizuno in fact pretty much everyone manufacturers irons. These Wilson's are back to what I remeber. An ordinary well made club without any silly gimmicks. They are well assembled with quality components, Dynamic Gold Shafts, Golf Pride grips etc and are avaible now for less than the price of an individual Ping iron. With these irons you haven't got the pose factor offered by other manufacturers as Wilson seem to be less than fashionable these days but if you'd rather be judged on you game than the brand name of your gear these clubs will not let you down. These irons are as good as anything, 3 majors won whilst in Padraig hands says it all. If you a decent ball striker I'd say buy some now as they represent a great bargain.
