Hippo XXL Utility Hybrid Review

The Hippo XXL utility rescue wood is a shallow face club designed specifically to help get the ball up easily from tight lies or deep rough and, with extra weight at the heel, are incredibly forgiving on miss hits. The Hippo XXL hybrid comes in 20°, 23° and 26° lofts, it’s easier to hit than a long iron and it’s designed to be incredibly forgiving on miss hits. The Hippo XXL hybrid comes standard with the proprietary Mitsubishi Rayon graphite shaft and it’s available in regular flex. The Hippo XXL hybrid features the premium velvet ‘Orange Cap’ tour grip.

2009 Review

The Hippo XXL utility wood was a surprise package. Looks-wise it was well received but it really excelled in its performance. A low, penetrating flight produced good distance stats while Chris, David and Roger all kept it pretty straight. Roger loved it out of the rough and David was surprised by the feel. A quality club from a firm known for offering value!
