What we say...

The Tech:

Designed for maximum distance and forgiveness. This high MOI design has a thin high strength face to maximise face flex and rebound especially at lower swing speeds. Srixon’s “Action Mass” Technology means the Z355’s have slightly heavier head weights so you swing at the same pace but there’s more mass at impact so in theory shots should go further.

Our verdict:

A wider and bigger body across the board than Srixon’s H45, because its aimed at a completely different golfer. How did it perform against the H45? Well it launched shots 3.5deg higher, the ball speed was higher as Srixon promised with the “Action Mass” tech and it carried shots an extra 9 yards further. Which is seriously impressive. Despite all that though it didn’t stop us pining for the sleeker shaped H45. How did it perform against the competition? Well let’s just say it got to within 5 yards of the longest carrying hybrid on test.

Bottom line:

On this evidence many will say why don’t we all use wider body hybrids? It comes down of course to the look of a bigger head and how golfers attack the ball differently from the turf. Only you can decide what your game needs but based on this evidence you simply have to hit any new hybrid purchase on a launch monitor to understand how its launching shots into the air before splashing the cash.
