What we say...

October 2012 Test

What were your initial thoughts on the shoes?
Loved the sporty looks and was impressed by how lightweight and comfortable they were.

What have you enjoyed about the shoes?
I was really surprised by their level of grip. I expected a bigger trade off for the comfort. I like that you can go for the red laces to stand out a bit more or the white to blend in.

What are you not so sure about?
Even though I know they are technically golf shoes and I’m allowed to wear them I don’t feel all that comfortable in the
clubhouse with them on.

How have they performed in various weather conditions?
I didn’t have the same trust in wet weather. I put a fair bit of pressure on my right leg and I didn’t have the same confidence pushing off if it was slippy. They clean up really easily though.

How do they compare to regular cleat/spike shoes?
I feel more comfortable in slippier conditions with cleats. I found the spikeless shoes too much of a distraction during the swing – I’d always go with cleats or spikes in wetter weather.

2011 Test

Shoe detail: The adicross has already made a splash on Tour on the feet of Justin Rose when he won the BMW Championship last year. The sole features 1245 strategically-placed traction lugs of varying size for secure grip while the toe is reinforced with a synthetic toe-cap for durability. The shoe is also designed to offer the foot more natural flexion and torsion to perform on and off the course.

Jon: I desperately wanted to like these shoes, because the styling was very bright and this made the shoe look different to many others on the market. In terms of stability, there were certainly no grumbles and you do get two different colour laces to choose from, which is a nice touch. But like the Ashworth shoes, these were slightly uncomfortable and a tad narrow for my plates.

David: These are very bright and bold, although you can change the laces to the more subdued white. In terms of looks, I’d happily wear these off the course with a pair of jeans but I felt a little self-conscious in and around the clubhouse with them. These would be ones for modern golf clubs only. In performance and comfort terms though these ticked all the boxes and again I felt as secure and stable underfoot as I could in the icy conditions.
