Hi-Tec V-Lite Ventura Golf Shoes Review

As a man of a certain age, wearing Hi-Tec shoes brought back bad memories of schoolboys saying I was too poor to afford 'proper' trainers (Nike, Adidas, etc).  Well, a few decades on and I picked up these Hi-Tec V-Lite Ventura shoes for 20 quid having been asked at the last minute to a Golf Day (and having not played for so long that my old shoes had biodegraded in my garage).  By my estimation (and having looked at the £75+ golf shoes), 20 quid was going to get me two plastic bags if I was lucky.  How wrong I was.  The leather uppers are soft and supple (and are, obviously, leather).  The shoes are light (as advertised), but the sole unit is well-constructed and gives excellent support and grip both walking and in the swing.  We played 18 holes at a swampy and rain-swept Brocket Hall (a beautiful course) and at the end my feet were still dry, warm and comfortable; this was the first time of wear too. The badge may still say "poor man's shoes", but if you can get past that, you'll get a very well constructed shoe, made from the sort of quality materials and including the sort of features which would be at home on shoes 4 times the asking price.  And if you can't quite reconcile the badge issue, be assured that the branding is suitably 'stealth'; people all thought I was wearing Footjoys. So, if you want fully waterproof leather, light, comfortable, stylish looking golf shoes for the price of a London lunch for two, look no further.
