Ping-staffer Hatton has enjoyed an incredible 12 months. A first PGA Tour victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was followed by a third Rolex Series victort at the European Tour's flagship BMW PGA Championship. And he's picked up where he left off, opening the 2021 European Tour season with victory at Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship – his seventh overall.
Little more than a year ago Hatton was struggling with injury and mental demons, as he told us in this revealing interview. The motivation for golf post that glorious Ryder Cup victory at Le Golf National in 2018 was proving hard to find, but all that changed after a successful operation and an unexpected victory at the Turkish Airlines Open last November.
Hatton's most-recent victory lifted him to a career-high No.5 in the world rankings and, if his form continues, he looks almost certain to feature in his second Ryder Cup later this year.
