What’s In The Bag: Caroline Hedwall

Swedish golfer Caroline Hedwall is no stranger to the winner’s circle. We review what’s in the bag of the multiple European tour winner

Caroline Hedwall has seven professional wins to her name on the Ladies European Tour, her last coming at the 2022 Andalucia Open after digging deep to win via playoff over Morgane Métraux.

Today's Golfer What's In The Bag is brought to you in association with Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X golf balls.

In addition to her LET wins, Hedwall is a multiple winner on the Australian and Swedish Ladies Tours, taking her combined victories in professional golf to 16. Her best performance in a Major to date was third place at the Chevron Championship in 2013, a year in which she ended 23rd in the Official Women’s World Rankings.

Caroline Hedwall will compete in the 2023 Solheim Cup

While her world ranking has since slipped somewhat, typically hovering around the 120 mark in recent years, Hedwall’s experience at getting across the finish line has earned her a Captain’s Pick for the 2023 Solheim Cup, her fifth appearance for Team Europe.

Hedwall boasted a winning Solheim Cup record going into the 2023 competition (8 wins, 6 losses, 1 half), with her 2013 performance in Colorado being a notable career highlight, winning all five of her matches.

Titleist is the brand of choice for the vast majority of the Swedish golfers’ setup. Let’s take a look at what’s in the bag of Caroline Hedwall.

What driver does Caroline Hedwall use?

Caroline Hedwall uses a Titleist TSi3 driver

Price: 519.00 / $550.00 RRP
Since their introduction, the TSi series have become the most-played drivers on the PGA Tour with more than 100 players putting them in the bag, including Justin Thomas (TSi3), Adam Scott  (TSi3), Jordan Spieth (TSi3), Rafael Cabrera Bello (TSi3), Cameron Smith (TSi3).

The more compact, traditional pear shaping of TSi3 is aimed at more consistent ball-strikers seeking ultimate control over their flight.

A five-setting SureFit CG track offers precise adjustments, from ‘most heel biased’ through to ‘most toe biased’, allowing players to fine-tune their shot shape and launch. Unlike TS3, the weight is now easily visible, allowing you to see its position without removing any parts. Its location at the very rear of the club also increases stability on those off-center hits.

What fairway wood does Caroline Hedwall use?

Caroline Hedwall uses a Titleist TSR3 fairway wood

The ultimate fairway metal when it comes to adjustability is designed with a new, easy-to-adjust five-position SureFit Adjustable CG Track System to fine-tune performance.

Featuring the same Open Hosel Construction as TSR2 fairways, the TSR3’s CG has been positioned deeper, slightly lower, and closer to the face center to provide an easy, high launch with plenty of forgiveness.

Everything from the look, sound, and feel of TSR3 encourages players to hit it square and long with total precision.

What hybrid does Caroline Hedwall use?

Caroline Hedwall uses a TaylorMade M1 hybrid

Price: 199.00 / $250.00 RRP
Hedwall has been known to carry TaylorMade's 2016 M1 hybrid with its shot-shaping capabilities which you won’t get with every hybrid.

We reckon is particularly useful if you’ve got specific shot bias setups in your driver and fairway woods. With the sliding weight positioned neutrally, there’s a lot of mass at the back of the head which created more spin than Callaway’s Apex which could help flight the M1 better for some golfers.

Price: £169.00 / $179.99 RRP
Titleist's wedge guru, Bob Vokey, rarely puts a foot wrong, and the Vokey SM9 wedges are no exception. In fact, we'd go as far as to say the Titleist Vokey Design SM9 wedges are the most versatile, accurate, and forgiving wedges the legendary designer has ever created.

There's an extensive range of grinds available, meaning you can find the perfect fit for your swing type (steep, neutral, shallow) and the course conditions you normally play (firm, neutral, soft). That does mean that a fitting is required to make sure you're getting the best-fitting wedge for your individual needs.

What golf ball does Caroline Hedwall use?

Caroline Hedwall uses a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball

Price: £50.00 / $54.99 RRP
Titleist’s flagship balls were played by all four Major winners in 2022, with Scottie Scheffler using the Pro V1 for his victory at the Masters and as he rose to No.1 in the world. Former World No.1 Justin Thomas used the Pro V1x as he lifted his second PGA Championship before Matt Fitzpatrick secured his maiden Major at the US Open with the Pro V1x. And there was another Grand Slam success for the Pro V1x at The 150th Open, where Cameron Smith sealed the Claret Jug.

On the PGA and DP World Tours, it’s more a case of who doesn’t use a Pro V1 or Pro V1x. Some of the biggest names include Jordan Spieth, Will Zalatoris, Viktor Hovland, Tony Finau, Adam Scott, Tom Kim, Max Homa, Cameron Young, Tyrrell Hatton, Seamus Power, and Sungjae Im.
