What’s In The Bag: Megan Khang

We take a look at what’s in the bag of Megan Khang, a victor on the LPGA Tour and Solheim Cup regular

Jump To: Khang’s WITB

Megan Khang is into her 8th season on the LPGA Tour, and it has been another strong one. Khang has been one of the best and most consistent players since her rookie season back in 2016. It’s almost impossible to believe the American picked up her first victory on Tour at the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open.

Today's Golfer What's In The Bag is brought to you in association with Callaway Chrome Tour and Chrome Tour X golf balls.

Khang’s victory came via a playoff against Ko Jin-Young. Both players headed to the first playoff hole at a score of nine under par. The American prevailed with par on the first playoff hole to claim her maiden victory after 187 events as a professional on the LPGA Tour.

Megan Khang won the 2023 CPKC Women's Open to claim her first victory on the LPGA Tour.

It seems that Megan Khang has been a name on people’s lips for an eternity and it’s hard to believe she is only 25 years old. Following her impressive season which has been capped off with her first LPGA Tour victory, she earned a place once again on the USA Solheim Cup Team.

Despite Khang’s only win on the LPGA Tour coming this season, she has been a key feature of USA’s three previous Solheim Cup Teams (2019, 2021, and 2023). The Boston-born golfer is exceptional at making cuts, having only been cut from two events this season (from 17 starts).

After graduating from Rockland High School, Megan Khang believed so much in her ability she decided to bypass College and turn professional. It’s proved to be a very successful decision. Now she has won on the LPGA Tour, could the flood doors have opened on this superstar’s career?

Megan Khang is one of many Tour pros using PXG golf clubs. Khang said, “I switched to PXG in my rookie year and I never turned back.” PXG are very well-known for manufacturing quality golf equipment, so let’s see which clubs are in Megan Khang’s bag.

What’s In The Bag: Megan Khang

What driver does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang uses a PXG 0311 Gen 6 Driver (9°) with a Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana PD 5th Generation shaft

Price: £469.00 / $499.99 RRP
PXG have 38 Tour pros using their equipment and Megan Khang is one of the biggest stars they have. Khang has PXG's most recent driver in the bag which they claim is extremely accurate - the American backs this up by having an 80.14% rate of finding the fairway.

What fairway wood does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang plays with a PXG 0341 X Proto fairway wood (15°) with a Mitsubishi Chemical Diamana TB shaft

Price: £119.99 (pre-owned) / $169.99 (pre-owned)
Unlike using the most recent driver, Khang still depends on a fairway wood from 2021. The 0341 X Proto is a low-spinning fairway wood which makes this a perfect replacement off the tee and brilliant for chasing after those long par 5s.

This is a model from 2021 and second hand they are massively inexpensive for the quality.

What hybrids does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang has two TaylorMade GAPR HI hybrids (19° & 22°) with Graphite Design Tour AD UT Hybrid shafts

Price: £259.00 / $179.99 RRP
It's very surprising that Khang has another brand in her bag, but she clearly trusts her TaylorMade GAPR HI hybrids - especially having two of them. Considering these weren't the most well-received clubs on Tour when they first launched in 2018, that hasn't put the 25-year-old of keeping them in the bag.

These clubs haven't been in production for years and you can now pick them up for incredibly cheap secondhand.

What irons does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang uses PXG 0211 ST irons (5-PW) with Aerotech SteelFiber FC shafts

Price: £189 / $219 RRP (per club)
Along with her 2021 fairway wood, Khang resorts to the 2021 PXG 0211 ST irons. As the old saying goes, if it's not broken, why fix it? That's exactly the case with these irons in Khang's bag. She is incredibly impressive with her iron game, finding GIR 72.59% of the time - ranked 7th for the season on the LPGA Tour.

Khang may not be itching to switch her irons, but there is a new version available - PXG 0317 ST irons.

What wedges does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang has three PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy Milled wedges 52°-10,  56˚-10˚ & 60° with Aerotech SteelFiber FC shafts

Price: £429.00 / $349.99
There's a reoccurring trend in Megan Khang's bag, she likes to hold on to equipment that works for her. Hence she opts for the original PXG 0311 Sugar Daddy Milled wedges as opposed to the second generation wedges. Khang carries three wedges that piece perfectly with her irons.

There are new second-generation wedges available that have replaced those used by Khnag, so if you want to use the same wedges you'd have to look pre-owned or you can purchase the new version.

What putter does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang's flat stick is a PXG Brandon Battle Ready putter

Price: £359.00 / $389.99 RRP
Performing on the greens has been vital to Khang shooting 17 rounds in the 60s this season. Her putter of choice is the PXG Battle Ready Brandon. With the flat stick, she's managed to roll in 216 birdies (13th on the LPGA Tour this season) and 6 eagles (14th on the LPGA Tour this season).

This is the previous model putter, you can now purchase the newer PXG Battle Ready II Brandon putter.

What golf balls does Megan Khang use?

Megan Khang opts for Titleist Pro V1 golf balls

Price: $54.97
Another golfer playing with Titleist Pro V golf balls, and Khang chooses to play with the Pro V1s. Despite PXG now manufacturing their own golf balls, the American still opts for the No1. golf ball in golf.
