The best driver ever made

The best driver ever

What is the best driver ever? The original Callaway Big Bertha? The TaylorMade R7? Perhaps the Titleist 975D? Something else?

We wanted to end the debate and answer that question once and for all.

We asked for your nominations for the best driver ever and used them to create a shortlist of the 16 contenders:

– Nike Covert

– TaylorMade SLDR

– Callaway Big Bertha

– TaylorMade Tour Burner

– Titleist 975D

– TaylorMade R5

– Ping G400

– Ping TiSi

– Ping G10

– Cleveland Launcher

– Mizuno T-Zoid

– TaylorMade R9

– Callaway XR16

– Nike Sasquatch

– TaylorMade R7

– Cobra F7

We performed a random draw to determine matches and then ran a daily Twitter poll using the hashtag #BestDriverEver pitting two drivers head-to-head. Thousands of you voted.

Incredibly, despite having just three models in the list of 16, Ping managed to get two drivers into the grand final, where the Ping G400 Max driver secured a convincing victory, picking up 67% of the vote.

The results of the best driver ever made

The Ping G400 Max saw off some strong competition, including the Callaway Big Bertha and Titleist 975D – two classic drivers in their own right.

Ping G400 Max driver

Golfers have been hugely impressed by the Ping G400 Max forgiveness levels, with a 460cc head and the most stable MOI Ping had ever produced, making it the most forgiving driver in golf at the time of release.
