Mar20 SunExpress swings into Antalya

Golf in Turkey has so much going for it. Firstly, there’s the year-round sunshine, and secondly there’s a wealth of outstanding courses in and around the Belek region, a truly hot golfing destination in more ways than one: Nick Faldo has just finished a course there while Colin Montgomerie is currently working on another.

A golfing break in this part of the golfing world offers excellent value-for-money too – generally speaking, you’ll be forking out quite a bit less than you would for a trip to traditional favourites such as the Costa del Sol and The Algarve.

More good news for Turkey – and for golfers looking to savour a new and different destination – is that SunExpress, Turkey’s leading low-cost scheduled airline, has announced a new twice-weekly non-stop service between London Stansted and Antalya, which lies on the Turkish Riviera and is the gateway for Belek.

The SunExpress schedule to Antalya will give UK golfers the year-round option to fly out on Thursday and return on Monday, enabling three days of golf in the sun. The airline will also offer complimentary carriage of your golf kit  (under 30kg) – unlike easyJet and Ryanair. In addition, SunExpress provides free beverages and non-alcoholic drinks, complimentary meal, seat selection at check-in, newspapers, in-flight movie and audio entertainment and 20kg free baggage allowance.

SunExpress will operate between London Stansted and Antalya on Mondays and Thursdays. Flights depart from Stansted at 10.30am, arriving in Antalya at 4.30pm local time, while the return flight departs at 7.05am, arriving in Stansted at 9.30am. Flight time is about four hours.
