After the thrills and spills of last weekend’s US Masters action at Augusta National, you’ll probably be looking to play somewhere special this weekend (make it a long weekend in the case of a few of the star venues listed below!).

The Grove, Herts

What it’s staged: The memorable, record-breaking 2006 World Golf Championship convincingly won by the one and only Tiger Woods.

2-FORE!-1 availability: Mondays & Tuesdays.

St Mellion, Cornwall

What it’s staged: Six B&H International Opens in the 1990s and the Jack Nicklaus-designed course is currently preparing to host the 2011 English Open.

2-FORE!-1 availability: All week after 3pm.

Celtic Manor (Roman Rd Course), Monmouthshire, Sth Wales

What it’s staged: The Celtic Manor Wales Open between 2005 & 2007 as well as the All Star Celebrity Cups – the brainchild of Ant & Dec – in 2005 and 2006.

2-FORE!-1 availability: Mon-Thurs.

Trevose G&CC, Cornwall

What it’s staged: The Harry Colt-designed links last year set the scene for leading amateur event the Brabazon Trophy.

2-FORE!-1 availability: All week except Wednesdays.

Forest of Arden, Warwicks

What it’s staged: The superb Arden parkland course with its thrilling par-3 finale, has hosted plenty of top tourneys including the British Masters from 1997-99 and in 2003 plus the English Open (2000-02).

2-FORE!-1 availability: Mon-Fri before 9.30am & after 3pm.

The Roxburghe, Scottish Borders

What it’s staged: Rated as one of Scotland’s finest inland courses, The Roxburghe and its famous Viaduct signature hole (14th) held last year’s Amateur Boys Championship. It was also home of the Charles Church Scottish Seniors Open for five years.
