A good caddie can make-or-break a round and bagmen are certainly the ‘in’thing in Wales at the moment.
Due to rising demand for caddies at courses all over the Valleys, Visit Wales is launching a new National Caddie Scheme this month – the first of its kind in Europe.
Basically this means that golfers will be able to book an approved caddy in less than 60 seconds at www.caddylocator.com and wannabe caddies can already visit the same site to sign up to the scheme.
The scheme has been designed to create a gold standard for registered caddies in Wales and aims to equip caddies with the knowledge and skills to offer a premium service.
Budding bagmen are poised to become experts when it comes to the caddie’s role, golf etiquette while improving both technical and general knowledge of the course and the surrounding area.
