Just about every golfer knows that Scotland is the Home of Golf – where the game started several centuries ago.
It’s the home of many of the world’s greatest golf courses, specially when it comes to magical links layouts.
And although the likes of St Andrews and Turnberry don’t feature in 2-FORE!-1 GOLF many top tracks – coastal and inland – do and therefore are available to play for half the normal green fee rates…provided you’ve got a 2-FORE!-1 voucher of course.
And now is a great time to visit Scotland: although the temperatures have dipped, the courses are still in very good condition. It’s very much the calm-before-the-storm season…
Linksy-wise you’ll love the likes of The Glen (North Berwick), Machrie Hotel & Golf Links (Isle of Islay) and the Kittocks at Fairmont St Andrews to bits.
Further north near Aberdeen you’ll have a ball at the short but tricky links of Cullen while among the inland beauties are the mighty East Course at Dalmahoy and the classy Dave Thomas-designed The Roxburghe Hotel & GC on the Scottish Borders.
