Fun in snow at Sandford Springs

After recent snowfalls transformed Sandford Springs Golf Club, Hampshire, into a true winter wonderland, members and visitors were invited to take part in a unique target golf competition.

An entry fee of £1 for three balls was charged, and for each ball successfully shot into a distant boat the player won a sleeve of Start golf balls.

The Club Captain’s wife, Orla Hendron (Junior Organiser for 2011), was heard to shout “get in the hull” when the action got underway!

All contributions from the target competition were split between the two Captain’s Charities for 2010: Guide Dogs for the Blind and Naomi House Children’s Hospice.

So far Sandford Springs golfers have raised in excess of £10,000 for the two charities, including enough money to buy a guide dog that was born three weeks ago and has been named Sandy, after the golf club.

No matter what the weather does, each day the car park is clear and Sandford Springs and its staff are ready for business.
