Greenkeeper bags first ace

Dedicated greenkeeper George Butters loves working at Ufford Park Golf Course, Suffolk – even more so now he has just had a hole-in-one there!

George (21) struck it lucky and holed his first-ever ace at the par-3 16th hole while playing a social round with his friends.

He hit a solid strike with his 6-iron to the 140-yarder and the greenkeeper couldn’t believe his eyes when the ball dropped into the hole despite the tough pin position on the back upper tier of the green.

It was drinks all round in the clubhouse afterwards after George’s ball pitched on the bank at the back and rolled straight back down and into the hole!

Ufford Park is a fine year-round parkland course which belongs to 2-FORE!-1 and offers half-price green fees to golfers (with a 2-FORE!-1 voucher) throughout the week.
