Branston G&CC hosts British Junior Tour

Branston Golf & Country Club has been selected to host the British Junior Golf Tour this Summer.

Branston Golf & Country Club, located on the south side of Burton upon Trent, boasts a fantastic 18- hole championship, parkland course, which runs alongside the picturesque River Trent.

Branston welcomes the youngsters of the British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) on the 22nd & 23rd August 2011 to both their 18-hole course as well as their 9-hole Peter Alliss course and driving range.

The BJGT aims to provide a quality, professionally run, equal opportunities tour in a safe, friendly and fun environment that allows junior golfers to gain competition experience.

Every year the tour, now in its sixth year, sponsors and supports a ‘Player of the Year’, with the ultimate desire of helping every child and their families to be introduced and to enjoy the sport of golf.

There are two tour finals this Summer, one is the championship for the older, lower handicap players with a limit of four individuals and the BJGT grand final, which is to be held at Branston Golf & Country Club, for players with handicaps over four and aged from 5-17 years.

Richard Odell, Golf Director at Branston said: “I am absolutely delighted we have been selected to host this prestigious event, ahead of a number of high profile clubs. The decision is particularly rewarding for all our ground staff who have worked hard to bring the presentation and standard of the golf course to its highest level for many years.”

The event is open to all junior golfers, to enter simply enter online at: www.juniorgolftour.co.uk
