Sussex cricket stars team up at Mannings Heath

Sussex County Cricket Club and Mannings Health Golf Club, two of the most long established sporting venues in the county have teamed up in a one year partnership deal.

Sussex cricketers including Matt Prior, Murray Goodwin, Chris Nash, Ed Joyce, Lou Vincent, Wayne Parnell and Luke Wright are just some of the first team players who will be enjoying the recently remodelled Waterfall Course at the West Sussex Club this Summer.

International wicketkeeper Matt Prior who plays off a nine handicap recently paid a visit to Mannings Heath Golf Club and was one of the first to play from the newly built tees on the 6,683 Waterfall Course.

The 29 year old was impressed with the course and commented: “I am really looking forward to playing here at Mannings Heath this Summer, more than half of our first team regularly play golf and with a long season of 45 matches it is important to have some down time and I,m looking forward to playing both courses this year”

Members at Mannings Heath are also set to benefit from the partnership with executive passes available for all matches including the FLt20 events throughout the season.

Exclusive Hotels has invested more than £100,000 rebuilding thirteen sets of tees on the 100 year old parkland course over the winter. A total of 52 new tees encompassing championship, medal and ladies tees are now open for play.

The Waterfall Course has recently been selected to stage the 2013 English Women’s Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship and the ambitious club is hoping that they might one day be considered a possible host venue for the Open Championship pre-qualifying circuit.
