Montrose supports Help for Heroes

The Royal Montrose Golf Club will host a charity Texas Scramble competition on Sunday 22nd May at the Montrose Links Championship Medal Course, the 5th oldest course in the world, to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

Teams of 4, in any combination of ladies, gents and juniors will play for four team cash prizes and three nearest the pin prizes.

Volunteer fund raiser and former RAF Policeman, Andy Petrie said “The tee times for the competition were very quickly filled thanks to the wholehearted support of golfers from near and far including servicemen.

“It is hoped that everyone will enjoy playing our challenging course at Montrose on the day.”

“I am most grateful for the enthusiasm shown so far in supporting Help for Heroes, a most worthy charity.

“Clubs from Perthshire, Angus and Aberdeen, Carnoustie Golf Links Management Committee, Montrose Golf Links Ltd., generously donated as did local, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and national companies to help raise funds for the charity. “

A raffle draw and Silent Auction with prizes and lots valued collectively in excess of £3000 will be held on the day at the Clubhouse with tee times and other excellent donations to be won.
