New look a big hit at Hever Castle

The hospitality areas of popular 2-FORE!-1 venue Hever Castle GC in Kent have been refurbished for the start of the new season.

The elegant new décor in the Astor Lounge & Restaurant and “19th Bar” has met with approval from golfers and guests alike.

Additionally, The Astor Lounge, named after the Castle’s previous owner, William Waldorf Astor, displays previously unseen archive material from when golf was first played on the Hever Estate back in the 1920s.

Club Manager, Jon Wittenberg, is delighted with the refurbished hospitality areas which re-opened at the end of 2011 and says: “Now we can offer golfers a much improved experience in the Clubhouse which matches that of playing on our courses and can be summed up in three words: historic, picturesque and inspiring. I couldn’t be happier with the results and the feedback we have received has been tremendous.”

The new club hospitality features new menus and dishes prepared with fresh local produce served all day, washed down with Larkins local ale and Italian coffee.

A new “Social Membership” is also available which includes an annual pass to Hever Castle for members and their families. Members also receive discounts on food and drink at the Club, including Sunday lunches and special events.

The traditional Tudor style Clubhouse has breathtaking views overlooking the golf courses and Hever’s iconic ornamental pond, waterfall, bridge and gardens. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink after a round of golf.
