Seaton Carew, Co.Durham – Designed by the legendary Dr Alister MacKenzie, and shrouded in pedigree: it’s the only championship links between Scotland and South Lincolnshire and also happens to be the tenth oldest course in England.
Unusually the home of 22 holes – the last four were added in the mid-1970s – and there’s not a dodgy one among them!

*Conwy, North Wales – Quality links in a spectacular location on the North Wales coast, Conwy has recently staged several prestigious events including the Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open and European Amateur Team Championship while becoming the first Welsh course to stage an Open Championship final qualifier. Definitely worth considering for your 2-FORE!-1 diary – it’s only available to play in 2-FORE!-1 in the low season.
*Manor House, Wiltshire – Magical rollercoaster of a track plotted amidst 365 stunning acres of breathtaking Cotswold countryside on the edge of the ancient village of Castle Combe. Parkland golf doesn’t come much better than this.
*Montrose (Medal course), Angus, Scotland -Just up the coast from Carnoustie, Montrose is similarly steeped in history and regularly stages final qualifying when The Open is played there.
*Surrey National, Surrey – Sproting modern parkland track with a superb clubhouse overlooking the 18th green and providing grandstand views over the lake and course.
