The London club joins exclusive prestige club

Kent’s London Golf Club is to join the exclusive IMG Prestige network that features some of the world’s finest golf clubs.

In doing so the 36-hole golf retreat, within easy reach of the City joins an illustrious portfolio of venues, including Kingsbarns, Scotland, Carton House, Ireland, The Dutch, Holland, Cape Kidnappers, New Zealand, Legend Golf & Safari Resort, South Africa and Yas Links in Abu Dhabi amongst many others.

IMG Prestige is a high-end global reciprocal programme that brings together a collection of the finest golfing facilities in the world in recognition of the exceptional experience they provide members and guests both on and off the course.

With two championship courses in pristine condition throughout the year and renowned high-levels of hospitality and service, London Golf Club members now also have access to preferred rates, discounts, benefits and privileges at an array of stunning locations.

Commenting on behalf of London Golf Club, General Manager Austen Gravestock said, “It’s an honour to be invited to join such an elite group of golfing destinations and we are delighted that our course conditioning and first-class customer service continues to be recognised within the highest echelons.

“We strive to align ourselves with exclusive partners and look forward to both welcoming guests and building relationships with partner venues as well as providing our members with exciting offers and benefits to supplement their membership value.”

In addition to being a Joint Venture Partner of The European Tour, London Golf Club is also the first club to be granted European Tour Destination status. Located amongst 700 acres of rolling Kent countryside and within close proximity to the Capital, it has a proven record of hosting professional golf tournaments.

The Heritage course is a Jack Nicklaus Signature design which has hosted The European Open on two occasions (2008 & 2009) and provides an exhilarating test for golfers of all abilities. Its sister course, The International has a distinctly inland links feel and is a tournament venue in its own right, currently hosting Open Championship Regional Qualifying.

There are exciting times ahead for London Golf Club following the recent announcement that, together with The European Tour it has submitted plans to local authorities for the construction of a new European Tour Performance Institute (ETPI) and innovative 9-hole Academy course.

Alongside a 130-bedroom luxury 5-star hotel and spa, for which planning permission has already been granted, these significant developments encapsulate the club’s vision of becoming a world-class destination primed for hosting major golfing events.
