Rob finishes in ace style at Burhill

The signature 18th at Burhill Golf Club is a daunting closing hole requiring a tee shot that carries water to a two-tier green protected by tall trees, 161-yards away – all done with the eyes of the clubhouse and restaurant fixed upon you.

However, none of this fazed Rob Kenwood, who watched his shot sail over the River Mole, thread between the trees, pitch on the green… and roll into the hole.

Playing during the annual Vpar Client Day at Burhill GC in Surrey, Rob – who was a guest from Pine Ridge Golf Club – had a large crowd in the clubhouse to witness his feat.

Terry Smith, Burhill’s Deputy General Manager, said: “The closing hole of the New Course is an exceptionally tough one to finish on. Not only does it require a great level of skill, but also incredible nerve as the clubhouse overlooks the green and on a busy day there can be quite a few eyes on you as you make your approach.

“Congratulations to Rob for making his ace – the 20th we’ve had at the 18th since the course opened in 2001 – and he received a bottle of Champagne from Burhill’s hole-in-one sponsors Lanson.”
