newlook mottram hall unveiled in smashing style

De Vere Mottram Hall in Cheshire has unveiled its impressive multi-million pound make-over, which will position it as one of the country’s leading luxury golf resorts.

The major £6m renovation project has transformed the entire resort, with significant changes specifically to the golf course, clubhouse, hotel, and spa.

It was officially re-launched by a unique glass smash golfing challenge involving 2010 Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie and cricket legend Freddie Flintoff, both ambassadors for De Vere Golf.

The changes have been made ahead of what will be an exciting, but busy summer season for Mottram Hall, which welcomes the European Senior Tour for the first-time, as host of the ISPS Handa PGA Seniors Championship in June.

Ryder Cup legends Sam Torrance and Ian Woosnam have already confirmed their attendance at the event alongside a host of leading senior tour stars.

“These are the most significant investments in the resort’s history and reaffirm our status as one of the UK’s leading resorts. The renovations will further enhance the first-class experiences that we look to provide every guest. We are excited about the season ahead, especially welcoming the PGA Seniors Championship for the first time,” noted Tim Good, Head of Golf.

The championship course has undergone a number of changes in preparation for the PGA Seniors Championship, including the addition of several new and renovated bunkers, water features and aesthetic improvements, plus a new short game practice area.

Meanwhile, supplementing the changes to the golf course is the new contemporary clubhouse, which features De Vere’s signature Claret Jug bar and restaurant, an ultra-modern Halfway House, refurbished golf shop and new changing room facilities.

The Halfway House allows golfers to stop for refreshments whilst experiencing the finest in De Vere hospitality. It is proving incredibly popular and a must-see for members and guests, offering not only hot food and drink, but TV and a selection of comfortable seating areas.

The converted 18th century country house hotel has been fully refurbished to provide the very best facilities and personal touches to make experiences at Mottram Hall extra special.

A brand new fine dining experience has been added in the Carrington Grill, whilst the Club and Spa has undergone a complete redevelopment and now features state-of-the-art physical training technology, as well as a host of therapeutic and beauty treatments.

Daniel Hodson, De Vere’s Director of Golf stated: “From the hotel to the golf course, Mottram Hall has really transformed into one of the UK’s finest golf resorts. The course will provide a great test for golfer of all abilities, plus they can then enjoy the renowned De Vere hospitality in the Claret Jug and what has got to be one of, if not the best, Halfway House in the country!”

Don’t forget Mottram Hall, like the majority of De Vere’s UK venues, belongs to 2-FORE!-1 and offers discounted green fees.
