* The Grove, Herts – A five star venue on and off the course, The Grove provides an unforgettable experience and golfing day out. Kyle Phillips’s par-72 layout is sheer class and is where Tiger Woods famously romped to a World Golf Championship victory six years ago.There’s an outstanding variety of holes with the stroke index 1 3rd a superb par-4, swiftly followed by an equally dynamic short hole with the green perched just beyond a babbling brook. The back nine is more tree-lined with the 10th a splendid sharp left dogleg par-4.
But the real plus is that it’s always in Augusta-like condition with hardly a bladé of grass out of place.
*Redbourn – Outstanding all round modern golf complex where you can tackle the 18-hole Ver Course, and the nine-hole par-3 Kinsbourne after warming-up on the 20-bay driving range.
*Woldingham – fast maturing parkland which has been entertaining golfers from near and wide since opening in 1996 when it was known as Dukes Dene. Boasts excellent natutral drainage and quality USGA-spec greens.
*Lingfield Park – this venue is best known for horse racing though the on-site golf course, plotted amidst 200 acres of breathtaking Surrey parkland, is well worth checking out too.
*Traditions – 1999 Peter Alliss design and well worth taking the 10mins detour from junction 10 of the M25. But make sure you take plenty of balls as you need to negotiate several water hazards
*Selsdon Park – Top stay and play venue outside South Croydon with the mature J.H. Taylor designed parkland layout the no.1 attraction.
