new £1m clubhouse to open at spey valley

From next month (August), the par-72 Dave Thomas designed Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course at Macdonald Aviemore Resort will benefit from the opening of a new £1m clubhouse.
Just 40 miles south of Inverness Airport and minutes from Macdonald Aviemore Resort, the clubhouse enjoys the breathtaking backdrop of the Cairngorm Mountain Range.
Overlooking the 1st tee, the clubhouse will further enhance the appeal of a course that recently, for the 5th consecutive year proudly hosted the prestigious Scottish Hydro Challenge – a European Challenge Tour Event.
Complementing its stunning natural surroundings, the two-storey clubhouse is finished in wood and local, natural stone. Beyond large French doors offering sweeping views over the course, changing areas, a retail outlet, a lounge bar, restaurant and an additional patio terrace for al fresco dining ensure guests can truly relax and dine in style.

The construction of the clubhouse is the latest significant development by Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to ensure whether a leisure break, corporate or ‘society’ golf day, guests tee off in style.
As part of a £5million investment capital set aside by the group in 2013, refurbishment at other golf hotels include two significant investments into hotels within the newly launched Macdonald Hotels’ Signature Collection; £250,000 into 9 bedrooms at Macdonald Marine Hotel, North Berwick, the closest hotel to this month’s Open Championship at Muirfield and £650,000 into 39 bedrooms at the iconic Macdonald Rusacks Hotel, St. Andrews, overlooking the Old Course. Plus a £185,000 investment into 10 bedrooms at Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club, Northumberland.
