Top Cheshire resort to stage bumper event

Cheshire’s Mere Golf Resort and Spa is embarking on a brand new charity golfing event – The Sportsman’s Golf Classic – which will take place on 3rd October 2013 in support of The Christie Hospital and The Harold Riley Foundation.

The exclusive event is being headlined by ex-England cricket stars David Lloyd and Michael Vaughan who will be part of the golf teams as well as presenting during the event’s gala dinner in the evening. The golf day is taking place in association with International Sports Management, Galvin Green, Srixon Sports Europe and Vpar Scoring Systems.

This event represents another golfing highlight for popular 2-FORE!-1 venue The Mere which has attracted some of the region’s leading sporting figures, including Liverpool FC Captain Steven Gerrard, who hosted his first UK charity golf day at The Mere for his Steven Gerrard Foundation.

Following a day on the course, there is a full evening programme which will include a presentation from the Golf Day with Captain, Michael Vaughan and David Lloyd, as well as a charity auction which they will run with a range of prizes on offer, donated by Srixon Sports Europe, Galvin Green, The Mere and other sources.

The Sportsman’s Golf Classic event is open to all and includes a range of different corporate hospitality packages, including the full team based golf and dinner event as well as dinner only options.

The resort is expanding its golf service and guest offering, now boasting its own concierge service and tailored play packages. It has introduced a range of golfing packages for members, starting from only £4 per day. Members have also created a new Twitter hashtag #truecourse giving golfers the opportunity to promote why they choose The Mere as their golf course of choice.
