clubstohire’s new golfing guide to the algarve

ClubstoHire.com, the fast-expanding club rental company backed by Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, is launching its own comprehensive ‘Guide to Golf on the Algarve’ for thousands of golfers visiting Portugal this summer.

The 32-page publication provides an in-depth course guide for all 36 golf clubs in the coastal region, as well as details of established restaurants and places to stay and relax during a golfing trip.

It will be supplied from next week (6 June) with every set of golf clubs rented from Faro airport, the popular golfing destination where the company began its operations three years ago.

A further 5,000 copies are to be distributed to visitors hiring a vehicle from the SIXT car rental operator, while a digital version will be available on the www.clubstohire.com website.

“This is another first for us,” said CEO Tony Judge. “The guide gives visiting golfers all the local information they need in terms of where to play, eat and stay to ensure they enjoy a great time on the Algarve – a region of Portugal twice named the best golfing destination in the world.”

The guide has been compiled in conjunction with Life & Travel International Limited, publishers of Portugal Life & Travel magazine which has become well known over the past four years for its insight into events and special locations in the country.

A second publication covering the entire Portuguese golf offering is planned for the Autumn.

ClubstoHire.com has helped to save travelling golfers in Europe an estimated £1m in excess baggage charges since it was launched in 2010. It offers the latest golf clubs from TaylorMade, Callaway, Mizuno, Wilson Staff & MD Golf from as little as €35 per week.

The operation doubled its revenues and supplied 30,000 sets of clubs in 2012. This year, it re-launched its website and expanded the number of its locations to 16 across the Mediterranean, plus the UK & Ireland: Alicante; Barcelona; Belek; Faro; Girona; Gran Canaria, Tenerife; Isle of Man; Lisbon; Malaga; Murcia; La Linea/Gibraltar; Palma, Majorca; Paphos, Aphrodite Hills; as well as Edinburgh, the Isle of Man and Dublin.
