Chance to soak up the sun in Egypt

Professional and amateur golfers alike will once again be welcomed to Taba Heights’ stunning championship course later this month (November) for the seventh annual International Pro-Am.

Sponsored by the five-star Marriott Beach Resort in Taba Heights, the 72-hole tournament is the highlight of the Taba Heights golfing calendar and will take place from 27 November to 1 December 2013. Challenging for the title and a slice of the jackpot prize fund will be 25 teams of four, made up of one professional and three amateur players.

Applications for amateur players to enter the tournament are now open and will cost €695 per person. The price includes seven night’, all-inclusive accommodation at the five-star Marriot Taba Heights Hotel with a free upgrade to a sea-view room.

Competitors will also enjoy welcome cocktails, free range balls on practice and competition days, a gala prize dinner and a complimentary meal with 50% discount on drinks at Mexican café and bar, El Fuego. Offering stunning views over the resort and the Gulf of Aqaba, El Fuego is the perfect place for players to unwind after a day on the course.

Meeting both American and European architectural standards, the prestigious 18-hole championship course, now managed by Troon Golf, offers an impressive 7,100 yards layout with rolling elevations ranging from 4m-70m above sea level.

Visitors can soak up the atmosphere, as well as some winter sun, while admiring the picturesque natural backdrop of desert, mountains, vibrant sea and spectacular views of Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Jens Freise, Senior Director Marketing & Sales for Destinations & Hotels in Orascom Development, says: “We’re extremely pleased to be hosting the International Pro-Am again this year and look forward to welcoming back past competitors, as well as introducing new players. Last year’s tournament was packed full of drama, fun and excitement and the same is expected this year.”
