Top group winter packages on offer at Brocket Hall

Many golfers pack their clubs when the colder weather arrives but Brocket Hall Golf Club has launched a selection of exceptional-value golf group packages this winter that could force them to have a change of heart.

The prestigious Hertfordshire venue is offering a day to remember for visitors over the winter months, with golf and a range of other attractive benefits available from just £65 per person.

The eye-catching packages include tea, coffee and a bacon roll on arrival, 18 holes of golf on one of Brocket Hall’s two championship courses – the Melbourne or Palmerston – and a two-course buffet dinner with a pint of beer of afterwards.

In addition, golfers can enjoy unlimited use of the club’s renowned Palmerston Golf Academy, bag drop and club cleaning service, management of ‘Nearest the Pin’ and ‘Longest Drive’ competitions and scorecard marking.

Packages are based on groups of 12 people or more and are available to book from the start of November until March 31, 2014.

Brocket Hall has a range of other individual, group and corporate days on offer over the coming months, while a one-night residential stay including 36 holes on either course and breakfast is on offer from only £115 per person over the same booking period.

Situated within 543 acres of stunning 18th century parkland, Brocket Hall boasts some of the finest golf facilities in England, with its two 18-hole championship courses famously named after the prime ministers who once resided there, Lord Melbourne and Lord Palmerston.

Opened in 1992, the par-72 Melbourne Course is set in magnificent surroundings, crossing the River Lea several times before a memorable finish in front of the hall after a short ferry ride to the 18th green.

In contrast, the Palmerston Course – designed by Donald Steel – is a challenging par-73 woodland layout, with rare Hornbeam, Scots and Corsican pine and 300-year-old oak trees creating a memorable test, and was ranked 86th in the latest ‘Top 100 Golf Courses in England’ poll.

In addition, golfers can hone their skills at the first-class Palmerston Golf Academy; indulge in five-star dining at its award-winning restaurant, Auberge du Lac; enjoy a more laid-back meal in Watershyppes Restaurant or an overnight stay in the recently-refurbished Melbourne Lodge.
